My initial dealings with LBC were good. I especially found the salesperson
â Simon â very honest and easy to deal with. My Bailey Olympus 2013 arrived
in the Channel Islands as described and expected. Sadly, I am disappointed
with the after sales care, specifically warranty issues. Firstly, the
heater developed a loud and very annoying vibration. It took me to rant and
rave down the phone before LBC would agree to a locally based technician
(an MCEA member) attending my van. This issue has still not been fully
rectified. Secondly, within a short space of time three blinds and the
wardrobe door became faulty. As is nearly always the case, most items that
break are excluded from the warranty. The small door blind alone is circa
Â£45.00 including postage. The other two blinds are larger and will be
significantly more expensive. The wardrobe door lock seems to have been
cross-threaded: the wood behind has lost its integrity, so a workaround
will have to be found. If you are overseas and thinking or purchasing a van
from LBC, bear in mind, despite them knowing you are purchasing the van
from overseas (and happily taking your order and payment), should anything
go wrong you will more than likely be told, "the warranty is back to
workshop". These experiences have soured my enjoyment of my caravan.
Dear Mr Kosmider, after my staff have had to put the phone down on your for being abusive it is hard for me to write a meaningful reply. However, we have asked the MCEA technician to attend your caravan again to look at your heater/fan noise and as you correctly state the blinds are not covered under the used warranty.

Reply: Hi Mrs Perks, thank you for your feedback. We have now checked all the enquiry information you originally gave to us and your initial enquiry sent in May by Mr Perks listed the part exchange as a 2015 (as well as the enquiry sent in January which also listed it as a 2015 model). Unfortunately, the caravan was in fact a 2014 model which makes a considerable difference to the part exchange value. In situations like this we always offer the option of a full deposit refund and put no pressure on your either way. We try to be open and fair in all our dealings and certainly not underhanded. We are sorry that you felt your experience was poor, we will look at our process to see how it can be improved but we are glad you are enjoying the new caravan. Thanks again.

Can't say I was overly impressed with them and can't say I wasn't, there wasn't anything that gave me the impression they were happy with sale. To me Â£15,500 is a lot of money but to them it just felt like it was just another sale. To be honest the lady in the shop was more chatty and welcoming than the actual sales men.
When we went to collect the chap that shows you through your van and how everything works was very helpful but it's just so much to try and take in. The good thing is they give you 2 nights at a local campsite so you can get used to things.
Would use them again if they have a caravan I'm intrested in.

Dealing with Simon over the telephone, travelling down, meeting and being shown all the gadgets and gizmoâs by Alan, then off to Wareham Forrest 5* site, compliments of Ladybailey, for a couple of nights. On Sunday Simon came out to us to settle the water controls - easy once shown! A service Iâve not experienced before - and believe me I shop for England! I wouldnât hesitate to recommend Ladybailey and all their staff - First class customer service - try them - you wonât be disappointed.

We travelled from the West Midlands yesterday to collect our new Cartagena. Everything was ready for us and although we were 40 minutes early, we were not kept waiting. Les and Nigel were excellent (sorry Nigel, I know I promised I wouldnât say that about Les!). Actually, Les did all the paperwork, plied us with coffee and corny jokes and Nigel did all the hard work, handing the new caravan over very expertly and helping us hitch it up for the short journey to Birchwood caravan park that Lady Baileyâs had included in the purchase. Our first night was troublesome because the heating would not work on mains, only gas. I phoned Lady Bailey this morning (Good Friday) to ask their advice. Their technician Jez talked me through some reset steps, no change, so he came straight out to us on site and had it all sorted in a few minutes (sticky trip - or something?!), thanks Jez. So, a great introduction to both the sales and the service side of the business. Oh, and Dave the parts person, heâs great too! Highly recommended.

A big thanks also to Alan, who showed us all the things we needed to know about the Caravan when we came to pick it up and gave us a useful check list to get us on our way. When initially making our purchase, we were dealt with in a very professional manner. On collecting our new caravan (used caravan) we felt that the hand over was particularly excellent, a lot of time and attention to detail was given, especially considering the arctic conditions on that day. The only negative comment, I can make is that the 3 month warranty on a used caravan (purchase price Â£12695) is very limited.

Our salesman Les is a real joker and amused us while someone else fitted the number plate to the van. The handover was excellent, although I have 30 years experience with caravans he went through every detail thoroughly, and we did learn a thing or two. It is appreciated they kept the van in storage for three months as we did not require it until April. The van purchased was a Bailey Pursuit 400-2 and is a second van purchased for touring. We already have a larger van that is on a seasonal pitch.

The damp check was undertaken as soon as we were unhitched, Simon and a colleague entered the van and proceeded to climb over/move our personal belongings in their quest to find damp. They discovered an area under the fixed bed that Simon insisted was really bad damp (£1700 worth of workshop repairs). I argued that this was not damp and was in fact caused by my washing of the van and the water came through the seal on the under bed locker. Simon insisted that a large area of the floor required replacement and as such he was devaluing my trade in by £1000 . I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the deal and regret this decision.
Dear Mr and Mrs Almond, To re-assure you, since receiving your feedback we have re-assessed your part exchange (now 2 weeks after your collection date), the caravan still has very high readings - more than we would expect in almost the entire fixed bed area. Simons original appraisal was therefore correct and it was not simply washing the caravan that had caused these high readings. In disappointing situations like this we always offer you the option of a full deposit refund and put no pressure on you either way. I am sorry that your overall experience with us was not up to your expectations. Thank you for your valued feedback.

The comunucation initially was very good with details of the deal being made plain and simple. We travelled from Nottingham and had a Campervan as Part Exchange, with this in mind arrangements were made to drive the camper down on the Monday prior to collection of our New Bailey Rimini on th Wednesday, this should have given ample time to get the paperwork prepared. Instead on Wednesday we were kept waiting as there was a paperwork issue having had a very long day driving down from Nottingham the fact that it took nearly 3 hours to complete what effectively could have been prepared prior to our arrival was really unacceptable. It then left us with a rushed handover walk through a set of keys and an A4 sheet of paper showing directions to our overnight stay, bear in mind that it was dark by this time with a New caravan on tow along unlit roads we did not know! And to top it all we left a CD in the head unit of our Campervan which we were promised would be sent on to us but instead received a CD by some group called Dometic about a fridge? "What made us happy about Lady Bailey Caravan?" Our Caravan but in hindsight we wished we had bought locally.
Thank you for your feedback, you are correct - it should have been a smoother handover. Unfortunately, the online Black Horse system which would normally just require a signature on the e-pad went offline with no notice. We requested document copies to be emailed to us immediately but the time it took to obtain these was an issue. I can only apologise, we are now looking into how we can speed up this process should it ever happen again. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

I bought a second hand Swift Challenger last month. The caravan did have a lot of issues regarding cleaning and maintenance. Between myself and LBC they have been sorted out and compensated for. I feel that after reading other reviews, I have been a bit unlucky with my purchase. On notification of the problems LBC did go out of their way to rectify the issues and assuming that I don't have any more problems, then I would not have any problems of dealing with LBC again.

We were very happy with the handover of the caravan and the time spent going through the systems etc, We were expecting a hard sell of extras like extended warranty, special coatings for fabrics, maintenance deals etc but none of this happened which we appreciated and were pleased. Only two small niggles with the 430/4, when the caravan got really hot in the sun we were unable to open the door as expansion of the door/panels had caused the latchbolt to foul the strikeplate the only way to get in would have been to lever the door or crawl through the side entry under the bed. We cooled the door down with water then managed to open the door, I then had to file a few mm off the strikeplate and it seems ok now. The other minor issue is I cannot locate the error list referred to on page 80 of the manual when an error indicator showed up, info on this would be handy.
Hi Geoff, Thank you for the feedback, I have looked at the manuals for your caravan - it looks as though there was a list in an older owners manual that Bailey have removed (but must have left a reference too). I have emailed a copy of the pages from that old manual for your records should it be of any use. If you have any further problems with the door, just let our warranty department know and we will be happy to help.

The Salesman and the hand over were very good, Even though I did expect a battery & gas bottle, but the caravan was completely bare!! ... Totally unexpected.... When I bought the caravan I was told I could pick up in 3 and a half weeks and this was due to a service and valet on the caravan. When we picked it up we went straight to Weymouth to try it out. The van hadn't been cleaned at all, my wife found nail clipping on the seats and hair around the toilet....The cupboards also not cleaned inside.
Dear Mr Wileman, Please accept my apologies for the caravan not being valeted to our normally high standards, although a very rare occurrence it is still not acceptable, my valet team were mortified. There's a lot of knowledge at Lady Bailey from the van sales to the shop, which helped us make a decision on the type of caravan we wanted. When the caravan was delivered (to the site where we were staying for the weekend) the guy showed us around and made sure we were happy and knew everything and how everything works before leaving, very helpful. We did find a slight fault with a blind, when we starting using, so we went to the aftersales office and they ordered a new one for us without an hassle. If your buying a caravan, i recommend them....

Corien, the no nonsense, Dutch workshop coordinator was so well organised. Very impressive. They even followed up a month after I drove the motorhome away to see all was OK. Oh and if you can get the boss, Chris to say anything - that's a bonus. He is a man of mystery but also clearly knows how to run a very effective team. This is the 4th brand new caravan we have had and the dearest really disappointed that after it being on site for just 2 weeks it is leaking, the clock doesn't work and some finishing trim is missing. Lady Bailey are aware of this and we have had to purchase extra keys so they can access the van on site as the first attempt for them to visit was mis timed by them when they arrived 2 hours before the agreed time. Rating based on van being repaired without any more hiccups.

Purchased a new Cartagena that was delivered on time. Unfortunately they did not point out the caravan would be without a battery and hitch lock having left these on our Madrid which we PX and they sold last year. Our third van from Lady Bailey since March 2010, excellent and very helpful team who made the changeover work smoothly and despite a mover fault got us away to Wareham Forest where the mover and a sealer blocked awning rail were fixed by excellent mobile technicians. Bailey have made great progress since developing Alu Tech in 2009 and this Series 3 Unicorn is a very impressive van which we shall greatly enjoy. As you said Simon see you in 2018 for the Series 4!

Fantastic service today 10th March 2015. We had been having problems with our fridge/freezer keeping to a constant temperature in the fridge for some time. It was recorded at last service and logged as being within warranty time. Arrived at Lady Bailey today around 0845hrs and by 1530hrs a new fridge/freezer had been installed after all remedial measures failed to find the problem with the old one.

Dealing with Lady Bailey was very hard work from the first contact. When we phoned and asked if you had a model we required and was told it was there we drove 197miles from Essex to be told no sorry not here yet so we had a coffee and drove 197 miles home. Although we did place the order with you because the all round deal at the time was better than anyone near us, we waited a few months for our van which was expected, but, there was not one courtesy call to me during that period. I made in total 8 calls to catch up on the progress (not good customer service) when collecting the van had two nights at the Wareham Forrest courtesy of Lady Baily (thank you).Had a fault with the van on the Wareham site I have to say the Service Department were Brilliant within the hour a guy was there fixing it. The handover was quite good, the product we bought is good, the Lady Baily Service team Brilliant, Sales Poor. A reasonable customer journey, not the best experience.

Disappointed that the problem with the road lights on our new van were not highlighted before we collected the van, car and van should have been tested before the sale completed so we had the option not to purchase the van until the problem was solved. Otherwise, are happy with the van and with efforts of Gerry to get this problem sorted which I code tally is still not sorted.
Dear Mr Ramsay, thank you for your feedback. This issue affects about 1% of our customers on 2015 Unicorn models, unfortunately the fault is created by the towing vehicle not the caravan and a specific fix is being manufactured to work around this issue. As soon as it is available we will be in touch.

the help and information given plus the operational demonstration was good. Trade in deal was fair. Coming from Oxfordshire to have the motor mover swapped over was great it was removed we then travelled to Wareham forest camp site spent the last night in old unit, returning to Lady Bailey workshops the next morning for the change over and settlement, returning to camp site for first night trial. We started caravanning nearly 3 years ago and enjoyed it so much that we thought we ought to invest in a new model.
We had a used 2010 Bailey Pegasus 462 previously and it met all our requirements. However on a two month trip to the Highlands and Hebrides my wife started complaining about constantly making up the beds every night and restoring them every morning.
We saw Bailey had a 2015 range coming out and went up to Ladybailey caravans and met Les Cutler about the end of august. We decided that a new Bailey Unicorn Cadiz 3 was just what we were looking for and Les said the first models would arrive in october. We saw it and decided that was for us.
We took delivery at the end of october and we could not wish for better service.
Les, Simon, the M.D,Chris, Nigel who did the demo handover in fact all the staff were most helpful and courteous at all times.

With the plan of a long w/e away with our caravan we were horrified to arrive at our storage location last Friday to find a roof light had been broken off, presumably by the wind. Somerset was our destination and luckily you are en route, a phone call to the workshop and we set off, when we arrived at your premises a slot was ready in the workshop out of the rain and a replacement roof light was installed and thanks to Lady Bailey what was almost a cancelled w/e away was a great trip.

Reference Swift Challenger 530. I ordered and paid deposit on 20th August 2014, picked up the van 3rd September, which gave you two weeks to have it ready. Having paid £11,495.00 I expected it to be in full working order. According to the handbook you say the van was service on 26th August.(If it was it was not very good). P.D.I. was one done ??????.
On getting it home we decided to make sure we knew how things worked so connected GAS / WATER etc (1) The two large gas rings on the cooker did not work, the electronic ignition on the cooker did not work, this being GAS it could have been very dangerous. (Health & Safety should really be told about this). (2) The light in the wardrobe did not work. You have since rectified these 2 faults. Stating on your work sheet the reason was corrosion this did not happen a few days after me collecting the van. On going away the following weekend, my wife opened one cupboard and the draining board fell out hitting her foot the shelf thats hold t

We recently purchased a new Bailey Unicorn Vigo from Perthshire Caravans. On our first trip out we went to Lyme Regis in Dorset. After one day on site we had problems with electrics and contacted our dealer. They put us in touch with Lady Bailey where I spoke to Shane. After consulting their tech staff it was decided our battery charger had packed in.
Rather than pack everything up and take the van to their workshop some 90 minutes away, Shane offered to bring a new charger to us on his way home.
He arrived around 5.30 and fitted the replacement in minutes. This saved us losing a day from our holidays.

I found Lady Baily online and travelled 440 miles to do deal, found there prices second to none, but for me it was the staff who made this process painless. I would like thank Les and all the staff for this. loving the caravan and would like to say, that same caravan locally in Scotland would have cost me £2000 and less for my trade in, so with 3,000 better off I bought full awning and caravan mover with a range of other accessories, and still walked away with a cheque. was a long drive down to pick up but well worth it when Lady Bailey booked us in to a 5 star campsite in wareham forest for 2 nights.. all in all this was a 5 star purchase from a 5 star company, well done Lady Bailey Caravans.

We were delighted with the service provided by the lady Bailey team. We looked through the Bailey website for a dealership that was able to provide the type of caravan we were looking for and were pleased that Lady Bailey had a 2013 model in stock. Whilst it was a long way to drive to view we were so pleased we did and Les, initially, and Alan and Les when we finally collected the van could not have been more helpful. There were a couple of items missing from the van but these were quickly replaced and our overall experience was very good.

I went to look at the second hand ones and for what I was prepared to pay came away with a new one, the weight of the new one was so light it was only a little more than my old two birth, behind my two litre kia I never noticed the differance.

We handled p/x of our van against a new Bailey over the phone / email. As with any transaction of this nature you do wonder what it will be like once you arrive at the dealer. We so need not have worried (read the other reviews on this site). We were made exceptionally welcome by all members of staff, looked after whilst they assessed our van and took the mover off it. Lady Baily arranged for us to stay at a 5* site nearby overnight (and following night in new van) and gave us perfect directions to locate the site etc. The handover day was extremely well organised, old and new van were pitched side by side so we could easily transfer everything and a full walkthrough / handover of the new van was given. Every aspect of the transaction was handled professionally, well done Simon and team. I would not think of going anywhere else when it comes to changing our new van (though we are rather pleased with it so hope this wont be for a wee while!).

We collected our new Bailey Unicorn Valencia 2 on Monday 15th April. Thank you Simon for a relatively smooth hand over - we got the figures right in the end! Many thanks also to Gerry, Scott and all at Lady Bailey who were so helpful when, 10 minutes later, we had to return to the workshops with a damaged van due to a young lad who attempted to commit suicide by approaching us at 70/80 mph on a narrow country road, skidding sideways to try and stop, and then bouncing his car off a bank and ricocheting down the offside of our caravan. Thankfully the damage was minor.

Handover was very smooth, paperwork completed quickly and the Caravan was prepped to a very high standard. A lovely very knowledgeable chap called Alan walked us through the features of the Caravan, great for us 'first timers'. The complimentary 2 night stay at Wareham Forest was also a very nice gesture. We recently had to return to Lady Bailey for a new worktop and a problem with the battery charger on our Pegasus Ancona. The work was done under warranty arranged by the always helpful Alex.
From the moment we arrived on Friday morning Jerry made us feel that we were in safe hands. While we were looking round the shop our van was swiftly taken into the workshop and Scott was already pressing ahead with the work.
Jerry promised the van would be ready for 4.00 pm, at 2.30 he called to say the van was all ready for us to collect.
What a joy to deal with a company with old fashioned customer service, backed up with the latest technology.
We would not consider going anywhere else and are happy to travel the 170 miles from Kent, with a bonus of a few days break in lovely Dorset.

buying a caravan is is a big decision i travelled from south wales,13 months ago and bought a bailey pegasus 524 price wise and upgraded upholstery no one else could get near what they could sell me the van for,the crunch comes when you need things replaced under warranty, after contacting them on a Thursday to report the faults they had the parts from bailey by the next day and were contacting me to book the van in, they juggled things around for a 8.30am start and had the van ready as promised by 12.00 mid day for us to travel back to south wales. Lady Bailey have an impressive selection of both new & used caravans. It took us some time & a few visits to pick the one we both liked, which happened to be one of the first we looked at (a Sterling Amethyst).
Les was both helpful and patient (his patience was tested when later we changed the delivery date on more than one occasion).
Chris kindly towed our new caravan to a local site and set it up for us, as well as offering some useful advice.
The shop staff were also both cheerful and very helpful when we purchased a few extras.

We traveled 350 miles on a round trip to Lady Bailey. We were offered the caravan at the most competitive price - below the insurance policy's valuation. The part exchange price was also the best and this was the price given on handover. None of our local Bailey dealers came anywhere near the price difference. No quibbling, we were there less than 30 minutes - most of the features we already knew - everything that had been agreed by telephone exact to the penny. The dealers that I have used in the past could learn a lot of lessons from Simon and co.

Buying a caravan over the telephone was a totally new experience for us, and it has to be said we were a little apprehensive. After three phone calls with Simon, 1. to enquire 2. to order 3. to let us know it had arrived, we were on our way down to Dorset from Doncaster to exchange our Ace Award for a brand new Bailey Pegasus Verona. We stayed 2 nights at Wareham Forest Holiday Park, courtesy of Lady Bailey, went down Friday, had a night in our van then exchanged Saturday morning and had a night in a the new van. The site was wonderful and the weather was good so that was a bonus. The exchange went great with Simon, everything ready for us, the hand over was full and comprehensive, and John went the extra mile sorting out the gas/battery and removing the carajack points from the old van and fixing them to the new van. From the initial enquiry, to collecting our first caravan, service was Lady Bailey's main priority. Les communicated throughout the whole transaction, advising on extra's to have and not to have. On collection day we traveled 4.5 hours from Mansfield to collect the caravan, we arrived to have a nice cup of coffee to get us started again. Full handover and explanation of all the parts on the caravan was completed to a very good standard, and yes we still remember them all. Once we completed all the necessary paperwork a full handover to Dave in the shop was given, who again gave good service to us. A long way to go you might think to buy a caravan but we were not offered anything like such a good deal, locally. Don't worry that the Lady Bailey deal seems to be too good to be true, and that there must be a catch. We got an excellent deal from Chris, Les and the team on a new Pegasus Verona and even though we had only received a telephone valuation on our p/x van the price quoted was the price we paid, following an actual appraisal.
Good old fashioned friendly service from a company that obviously pride themselves in doing a good job.
Worth having the free 2 night Wareham Forest stop-over as we had a small water leak problem, that was put right when we stopped on our way home.

The Unicorm Madrid appears all that Bailey state it is and initial impressions are very good, despite having to purchase a new Hitch Lock, because Al-Ko changed the hitch configuration and initial problems fitting the Al-Ko Wheel Lock.
Overall I will continue to recommend Lady Bailey for offering an excellent all-round service that caravanners look for. If you want proof of their ethics, visit the (male) customer toilets!

After checking my Senator Vermont Series 6,2009, after the winter lay up. I found that the electric pump on the Loo did not work. I rang on Wednesday 9th March 2011 and was asked to bring the van over on Friday 11th March. I arrived at 9-45 am and left very soon after. Electric pump replaced and Caravan door lock adjusted.

We ordered a Seville from the brochure purely on price without having seeing one. Simon agreed that if we didn't like it when we did see one we could cancel. We went to the NEC saw the Seville compared prices and PX allowances with several other dealers then sought Simon out to confirm the order. When you pay a cheap price you expect corners to be cut but I can honestly say we have received first Class service and consideration. Our last Bailey we bought new 18 years ago. I have read on various forums some real horror stories from customers who have had all sorts of problems with their caravans and the dealership has been less than helpful in putting it right.
I wrote out a list [ mainly because otherwise I would forget ] and left it with the workshop manager Mr Shephard, when we picked up the caravan everything on the list had been completed and a little reply note left.
I have to say that it is the little things that make such a difference , such as the 2 missing curtain ends that have been replaced, the motor mover had been greased even though it was outside the service requirements.

We purchased a Bailey Pegasus 534 from Lady Bailey and travelled from Coventry as they were offering a better deal than local dealers. The service was excellent the handover covered everything we could have wanted to know. I have already recommended this company to other caravanners. Even though we were dealing with a company that was over 200 miles away - Lady Bailey were a pleasure to deal with and made us very welcome when we picked up the caravan.
